What all do farmers do?

There are many types of jobs that a farmer can do. Some farmers grow crops like peanuts, corn, soybeans fruits, vegetables and tobacco. Not only are farmers ones who grow crops but they also raise cows, pigs, and poultry for meat and dairy products. "Some of the jobs that a farmer does involves plowing fields, plantings seeds, spraying fertilizers and pesticides, run machinery, and harvest their crops" (Ferguson,134). This quote helps show some of the many jobs that a farmer has to do in order to maintain his or her farm business. Not all of the farmers are ones who grow crops and raise livestock. The other types of farming include beekeepers, reptile farmers, and fish farmers. As you can see not only do farmer run tractors and tend to their crops but take care of animals, reptiles, fish, etc. "Monitor activities such as irrigation, chemical application, harvesting, milking, breeding, or grading to ensure adherence to safety regulations or standards" (www.onetonline.org). This quote goes to show that farmers do apply fertilizers and other chemicals that will benefit the growth and protection of their crops.
