Conclusion
From all research that has been done, I have learned many thing about the career of being a farmer. Learning that there are many other factors that go into farming and how it goes helps to understand what I need to expect. I also learned that there are many college courses that need to be taken to help me do a better job at farming. Even though it isn't the highest paying job or doesn't have the greatest outlook in the future' it is something that I enjoy doing and I already work part trime for my cousin and his daddy. There is much more question that I have to get a better understanding and I have a lot ahead of me to be thinking about. I know there is a long road ahead of me and I am ready to take on the courses that need to be taken to help me get a job in this career.
What is the employment outlook for this job?
The outlook on this job doesn't look so well as it said that it is going to start declining because many of the family owned farm are being taken over by large farm corporations. Every year can be different for famers, as production, expansion, and markets are affected by weather, and other factors. "Large corporate farms are fast replacing small farm" (Ferguson, 135). This quote goes to show that many of the small farms are being taken over and run by large corporate farms. "Despite the overall decline in the employment of this job, small farms have developed a successful market for their crops" (Dept. of Labor). This quote helps to show that there is some chances that small farms will be able to succeed with their business.

What are the salaries that can be expected from this job?
The salaries from this job can vary due to the amount of labor that you have to pay, the fuel cost, seeding, fertilizers, pesticides; all these are what can factor into what can be earned from one season. One the toatal has been calculated from the crops that have been harvested and sold.Take the the total cost of the thing that had to be used during the growing season and subtract it from the total that has been made from the crops. Here are some of the salaries that can be expected for a farmer;
- Median hourly earnings were $7.11 in 2000. The middle 50 percent earned between $6.34 and $8.78. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $5.87, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $11.18 (umsl.edu)
- "The salaries can range anywhere $24,000 to $44,000 to $81,000 (Ferguson, 134).

What college courses do I need to take that will prepare me better for this career?
They're are quite a couple of courses that will have to be taken to get that degree that will be beneficial in your farming business or company. There are a couple of colleges that offer degrees in agriculture and courses that are needed to become a farmer. In many cases a college education isn't required to become a farmer because most of the skill are learned while you are on the job, but it is recommended that you earn a degree in agriculture so that you can better benefit your farm and business. "Some of the courses that a farmer you should take to give him benefits include mathematics and science, other courses such as biology, chemistry, earth science, and botany can also benefit the farmers business" (Ferguson,135). Not only are these classes helpful but there are classes that are based on the farming that you are looking at, whether it be animals or crop to bees or dairy, they have classes for them too.
What are the working conditions and schedules that go along with this career?
The working conditions of a farmer may seem like they are always in some sort of machinery, but that is not always the case. Some of the work that a farmer does outside his tractor includes measuring his fields, estimating how much of what crops to plant, checking for pests such as weeds, insects, or diseases that could be causing harm to the plant. Not only is the work in the field but also a farmer can be found in an office. "Farmers, ranchers, and agricultural manager typically work outdoors, but they may spend some time in offices" (Bureau of Labor). This quote helps to show that farmers also work in offices too. Some of the schedules that a farmer can look to is when the sun rises they go to work and when the sun sets is when they get off. Typically they will work anywhere from 10 to 17 hours a day depending on the work that has to be done and whether the weather cooperates. "Farmers may work a 6 or 7 day week during the planting and harvestiong part of the season" (umsl.edu). This quote goes to show that the schedule of a farmer can be very intensive, having to work a a couple of weeks without a day off.

What all do farmers do?
There are many types of jobs that a farmer can do. Some farmers grow crops like peanuts, corn, soybeans fruits, vegetables and tobacco. Not only are farmers ones who grow crops but they also raise cows, pigs, and poultry for meat and dairy products. "Some of the jobs that a farmer does involves plowing fields, plantings seeds, spraying fertilizers and pesticides, run machinery, and harvest their crops" (Ferguson,134). This quote helps show some of the many jobs that a farmer has to do in order to maintain his or her farm business. Not all of the farmers are ones who grow crops and raise livestock. The other types of farming include beekeepers, reptile farmers, and fish farmers. As you can see not only do farmer run tractors and tend to their crops but take care of animals, reptiles, fish, etc. "Monitor activities such as irrigation, chemical application, harvesting, milking, breeding, or grading to ensure adherence to safety regulations or standards" (www.onetonline.org). This quote goes to show that farmers do apply fertilizers and other chemicals that will benefit the growth and protection of their crops.

The story behind my topic choice
The career that I plan to pursue is farming or agriculture management. I chose this career because I have a passion for doing this and it is something my family has been doing for over 150 years. I have been working with my cousin and his father run their farm business for a couple of months now and the work is something that I am really cut out for.
